Fr Moses and Fr Stephen would like to express their sincere thanks for such an inspiring Holy Week. All the help throughout the week and so many people working and preparing behind the scenes and giving their time so generously made the Easter Triduum a wonderful experience. Thank you to our wonderful and committed cleaners and all who prepared the church for the different services, welcome teams, altar servers and sacristans, choirs, flower arrangers, gardeners, special ministers, those who take communion to the sick and housebound, readers,          collectors and gift aid, counters, repository and coffee bar team. It is lovely to see the parish community working so well together – we are blessed to have so many dedicated people at St John’s. Finally, thank you for all your good wishes, cards and offerings.

Divine Mercy Sunday  Divine Mercy Sunday is the Sunday following Easter, this year 7th April. There will be a service at 3pm at St John’s Church today.

Sr Anne  Our prayers and best wishes to Sister Anne O’Connell (Convent of Mercy) on her Diamond Jubilee of Religious Profession.

Gift Aid Boxes Unfortunately the boxes for this year have not yet arrived. You are welcome to use an envelope for your donation making sure your gift aid number is written on it.

Baptism We welcome into our parish family Nnaemeka Nwachukwu, Remiel Horvath, Kendrix Awala and                     Neriah Hyeremaben who were baptized this weekend. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a talk before the baptism. Please phone/email the office if you wish to attend (Next session is Monday 8th April).

Knights of St. Columba News On Saturday 13th April 2024, at 6 pm Mass, Brother Henry Welsh, the Supreme Knight of the Knights of St. Columba, alongside KSC Supreme Directors will be presenting the full charter Certificate to Council 977.  The Presentation of the full charter certificate will happen after the Homily. There will be refreshments in the Coffee bar after Mass. This is a great milestone for our Knights of St. Columba, Council 977, Gravesend and Northfleet. Later on, this year in 2024 we will also be celebrating a decade (2014-2024) of our Council’s existence. You are welcome to attend this very important event and celebrate with us in a special way as we receive this KSC full charter certificate on Saturday 13th April 2024, at 6 pm Mass.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed (10am-12noon) or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm.

Wednesday Tea/Coffee  Refreshments are served in the Coffee bar after 12 noon Mass. All welcome.

Booking Mass IntentionsEnvelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention and put the stipend in the envelope. Please do not use the Dona Machine for Mass stipends.

Altar servers Rally at The Friars, Aylesford on May Day bank holiday 6th May. Mass will be celebrated at 11.30am. Everyone is welcome to attend especially our servers, families and friends. Altar servers are encouraged to attend with family and friends.

Mass in Celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage July 13th 2024 at St George’s Cathedral If you are celebrating your 1st/10th/25th/40th/50th/60th + wedding anniversary this year, please let us know as soon as possible, and no later than May 31st 2024, providing the following details:  your names (ie John and Mary Smith), your home address, the anniversary you are celebrating, so you can receive an invitation from the Archbishop for the renewal of vows during Mass. Spaces are limited. Email: mflkent@rcaos.org.uk  As the title of your email, please write your parish location e.g. Gravesend, St Johns.

Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in     hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.
