Summer Concert  We are delighted to welcome back the popular Medway Singers, Lauren Lynn and professional flautist Mark Underwood to treat us to a very warming, relaxing evening next Saturday 13th July at 7.30pm. Proceeds for the Church Renovation projects. Tickets are £10 to include a drink and nibbles and are available from the parish office or ask a steward. Please do make every effort to come along.

Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the          hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.

Confirmation We congratulate our young people who were Confirmed this Saturday 6th July at 11am & 2.30pm.

First Holy Communion Preparation for Children at Non Catholic Schools Application forms are now available at the back of the Church. Sr Elizabeth will start preparation classes on Saturday 28th September. Please return completed forms to the parish office or hand to one of the Priests

Diaconal Day  On Sunday 14 July we are celebrating our first Archdiocesan Diaconal Day, during which we pray for the Permanent Deacons serving in our Archdiocese as well as we pray for  new vocations to this ministry. If you are a man between 21 years to 58 years, prayerful, with the desire to love God and God’s people, you are involved in services within your parish and community, you have tried many things and still feel drawn to a closer relationship with Christ and His Church you might possibly be called to be a Permanent Deacon? If you require further information about the Permanent Diaconate, please speak to your Parish Priest, or contact the Diaconate Formation Director via e-mail: ianblack@rcaos.org.uk.

Foodbank We will be collecting donations for the Foodbank at all Masses next weekend 13th& 14 July. The most needed items are, Tinned Veg & Meat, Crackers & Biscuits, Tinned Custard, Baked Beans, Honey and Squash.  Thank you

Altar Servers  Our next training session will take place next  Saturday 13th July at 1pm in the church. If you have made your first communion & would like to join us, please come along & find out more.

Monthly Book Club You are all invited to the monthly book club discussion organized by the Rotary Club of Gravesend and Ebbsfleet on Wednesday 10th July in the Coffee Bar.

St John’s Primary School  There is a vacancy for a Lunchtime Play Supervisor. Please see the noticeboard.

Baptism Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a talk before the baptism. Please phone/email the office if you wish to attend (Next session is Monday 8th July).

Last weeks collections  £1169.81. Peter’s Pence; £344.13.  Next week second collection: Stella Maris. A Catholic charity supporting seafarers worldwide relying on voluntary contributions. They provide practical and pastoral care to all seafarers regardless of nationality or belief. Thank you for your continued generosity and to those people who pay by standing order and contactless. Gift aid, standing order, bank details are available at the back of the Church or contact the parish office.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed (10am-12noon) or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration

KSC Dinner Dance 3 August 5.30-9.30pm  Please see flyer for full details. Tickets are £25 per person available from a member of the Knights. Please buy a ticket and enjoy a great evening with music, dance, relaxation and interaction.

200 Club  June Winners 1st: £55 – Sunday Teas, 2nd:  £35 – Bridie Loughlin, 3rd: £25 – C. Moreton, 4th: £15 – Betty        Matthews. We held the draw on Wednesday 3rd July in the Coffee Bar. Thank you for your support.

Wednesday Tea/Coffee  Refreshments are served in the Coffee bar after 12 noon Mass. All welcome.

Keep Fit  Everyone is welcome to join our gentle exercise class in the coffee bar on Wednesday at 1.15pm. Exercises may be done seated or standing. 30 minutes £3 a session.

Date for your diary – Our Annual International Mass Sunday15th September 10.30am at St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School. More details soon. Can your community help to sing a part of the Mass? Please email the office for any ideas/ help. 10.30am Mass that day will be moved to the Comprehensive; there will  be no 9.30am Mass at Denton

New Lectionary – Ambo Edition The Lectionary, which is the book that contains the Scripture readings for Mass and the Sacraments, is changing as part of the continuing process of revising liturgical translations. The changes are intended to make the biblical translations more faithful to the original languages. The set of 4 volumes cost £695 and we require sets for our Churches and Schools. If you are interested, we would like to invite people of the parish, to make a donation of £175 (There would be 4 donations of £175 for each set). A donor Bookplate will be inserted in the front page saying who it was presented by. Please contact Fr Moses or Fr Stephen if you would like to sponsor one of the sets or email the office.
