World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation Pope Francis has established 1st September, encouraging the Catholic community around the world to pray for our common home. The World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, celebrated on 1 September, kicks off the Season of Creation, a time of sustained prayer and action. During this season we are encouraged to pray and engage in community events in order to deepen our relationship with God, our neighbour and the earth we share, being ever more attentive to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. Humanity’s use of nature requires a true conversion and invites us to change our lifestyles. It runs until 4th October, the feast of St Francis of Assisi and as a parish we will celebrate this time.
