St Blaise There will be a blessing of throats during the Mass on Monday, on the feast of St Blaise.
Called to Bear Fruit The Archbishop’s pastoral letter offers us great opportunities in our parish to foster hope, faith, joy and love. It is a call for us to start and develop Small Christian Communities. Most of us have neighbours in our locality who are/were Catholics. Do not be afraid to reach out to them, arrange a meeting to look at the booklet ‘Called to Bear Fruit’ together.
Archbishop’s Visit to our Parish (2nd March, 2025): Archbishop John Wilson will be celebrating the 10.30am Mass on the 2nd of March. This would offer us opportunity to meet and interact with our Chief Shepherd in the archdiocese. As we are blessed with diverse nationalities, it will be good to celebrate the gifts that each of us bring to enrich the parish family. Would you like to present to the archbishop something unique to your culture to the archbishop at the end of the Mass? Then please meet Fr Stephen or Fr Moses (for more clarification) by the 15th of February
Baptism We welcome into our parish family Eddie Wiltshire who was baptized this weekend. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a preparation session before the baptism (the next session is Monday 10th Feb @7pm). Please email the office.

Altar Servers There will be a training/practice session on Saturday 8th February at 1pm in the Church. Please make every effort to attend.

Missionary Society of St Paul will be celebrating their Silver Jubilee of serving in the UK. A special Mass will be held at St George’s Cathedral on Friday 14th February at 6.30pm by Archbishop John. All are invited to this special occasion. We wish to thank you or your support and friendship. Please let the Priests or the office know if you would need transportation.
Foodbank We will be collecting donations at all Masses next weekend 8th/9th Feb. the most needed items are , Tinned Fruit/Veg/Meat/Mackerel, Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Squash, toiletries. Thank you for your support for local families in need.
Old Palm Crosses There is a basket available at the back of the Church to collect old palm crosses which can be burnt and made into ash for Ash Wednesday 5th March.
Mass of the Sick Next Sunday 9th Feb @ 6pm. There will be an opportunity for Anointing of the Sick.
First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be held in the Church this Friday 7th Feb. It will start at 2.30pm with Rosary, 3pm Divine Mercy Chaplet and Exposition. All are welcome to join us.
There will be 24hours continuous Adoration on Friday 7th Feb after 9.15am Mass until 10.00am Sat 8th Feb. If you are able, please sign the clipboard at the back of the Church so that we can be sure that there will always be someone with Our Lord. The Choir group will be doing praise and worship during this time 7-9pm.

First Saturday Devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary On the first Saturday of each month a service will be held immediately after Mass in the Church. Everyone is welcome to join us in prayer next Saturday 8th February.
Assisted Suicide All parishioners are invited to a special talk on Thurs 13 Feb at 7.30pm at St Michael’s parish hall, Chatham. The speaker is Dr. Cajetan Skowronski, a specialist geriatric and palliative care doctor in the NHS, and national media commentator. He will discuss the serious dangers of the assisted suicide bill, healthcare realities, and what we can do. Refreshments served. Car park on site. Chatham train station 30 seconds away.
Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family.
Wednesday Teas You are welcome to come into the Coffee Bar after the 12 noon Mass on Wednesdays for refreshments and friendship.
Building a Better Marriage If any married couples missed the recent Building a Better Marriage day at St John’s, you’ll be delighted to learn that there will be more events this year. Please see the poster in the porch for dates.
Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.
