Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.

MSP MISSION APPEAL WEEKEND

Every year the Diocese allows one Congregation to make an appeal for support of their Mission work; this year it happen to be MSP. Please support the work we do with the girl child, youths, the poor in missions like Chad and South Sudan, and the training of Priests.

Parish Pilgrimage to Walsingham  We have now booked the coaches for the pilgrimage to Walsingham and all the seats have been allocated. On Saturday 31st May the coach will be leaving at 7am prompt outside the Church. Please     arrive at 6.45am so that we can get everyone seated. We will be leaving Walsingham at 4pm. It would be advisable to bring a packed lunch and refreshments for the day.

Safeguarding Sunday 18th May is Safeguarding Sunday and Archbishop John has issued a pastoral letter (copies available at the back of the Church). In his letter, Archbishop John said “Safeguarding is not the work of a few; it is a shared     responsibility. Each of us – clergy, volunteers, parents, parishioners – is called to remain vigilant, informed, and committed to the well-being of every member of our community”. Last weeks collections  £1,420.27, Priests Training Fund £302.43. This week: MSP Mission Appeal – Thank you for your continued generosity and to those people who pay by standing order and contactless. We are ever so grateful.

 First Holy Communion Please remember in your prayers the 30 children who will be making their First Holy Communion this weekend. We thank the dedication of those who have prepared them for this big day.

Take part in a spiritual “Pilgrimage to Pentecost”  Starts each Friday 2 May – 7th June in person at St John’s @ 7pm, Scripture reflections in a specially written course booklet, six weekly filmed talks pre-recorded at diocesan Jubilee shrines and churches and the closing Mass at the at The Friars, Aylesford on Saturday 7 June.  Booklets available @ £3.50 each. 

Baptism Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a preparation session before the baptism (the next session is Monday 9th June @7pm). Please email the office.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed (12.30-6pm – please sign up so that there will always be someone with Our Lord) or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration.

Foodbank  We were able to deliver 79kg to the Foodbank for people in need. Thank you for your support. 

Jubilee Celebration at Aylesford Priory Archbishop John is inviting us all to join him at Aylesford Priory on Saturday 7 June, 10 am-5 pm, for our Archdiocese of Southwark Jubilee Celebration Day. It promises to be a great event! For more information, visit aec.rcaos.org.uk/jubilee celebration.

KSC Council 977 Annual Dinner Dance and Fundraising 5th July 2025 at The Riverside Community Centre, Dickens Road, Gravesend DA12 2JY, Tickets: £30, 7-11pm. Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer.  We especially remember our sick friends and family.

Mother’s prayer group takes place straight after the 9.15 mass every Friday. You are invited to join us and pray for our children especially.

Wednesday Teas You are welcome to come into the Coffee Bar after the 12 noon Mass on Wednesdays for refreshments and friendship.

Relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis visiting St George’s Cathedral – 26-29 June. St George’s Cathedral. On Thursday 26 June, an evening of adoration and veneration of the relic for young adults is taking place. An exhibition will also be on display at the Cathedral from 19 June to 7 July. Booking Mass Intentions:  Envelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention and put the stipend in the envelope and hand to one of the priests or call at the presbytery between 10-2pm if you would like a specific mass. We cannot always allocate a Mass on the date requested as it may have already been booked, however, your Mass may be shared if you wish. Please do not use the Dona Machine for Mass stipends.

Archbishop John Wilson It is with deep joy and thanksgiving, we welcome the election of Pope Leo XIV as the 266th Successor of Peter and 267th Pope of the Catholic Church. Let us rejoice and give glory to God for the gift of our new Holy Father. Please join me in praying for Pope Leo XIV, asking the Lord to bless him abundantly. And let us thank God for this great gift to the Church and to the world.
