Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to  receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them.

Thursday 9.15am Mass  During the school holidays, Thursday morning Mass will be held in the Church.

Youths You are invited for 30 minutes of fellowship and interaction after 10.30am Mass today Sunday 31st July (Pizza will be available). Please consider coming along on the last Sunday of the month.

International Mass – Celebrating our Unity and Diversity at St John’s  We want to celebrate our togetherness. Pope Francis announces the theme as “Building the future together.” –  humanity as brothers and sisters. We are blessed with diverse nationalities in our parish. Let us celebrate our fraternity with a very special International Mass. Please save the date so we can all celebrate as a parish community – this was a wonderful successful day last year.

Parish Pilgrimage to Medjugorje Fr Moses will lead a parish pilgrimage to Medjugorje on 3rd October for 7 nights flying from Gatwick airport. The cost will now be £600 sharing (or £130 supplement for single room). There is still time to let Henri Lindsay (07712278210) or the office know. We are travelling with Marian Pilgrimages who will contact everyone directly for booking and payment.

 Baptisms  We welcome into our parish family Calvin Frater and Lalya Fraterova who were baptized this weekend. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Dates for the baptism course can be seen in the porch (Families need to attend one of the talks before the baptism). Please phone or email the office if you wish to attend (Next session is 12th September).

Grandparents – Passing on the Faith  What practical steps can we take and what sort of conversations can we have which can help anchor our grandchildren’s faith? Four online sessions starting Wednesday 3rd August from 7:30 to 9pm. Please contact Lisette at mflse@rcaos.org.uk

Knights of St Columba & Friends are holding a parish Barbeque at St John’s on Sunday 14th August at 12 noon. Everyone invited to share the afternoon with us; it is to celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

First Holy Communion Preparation for Children at Non Catholic Schools Application forms are now available at the back of the Church. Sr Elizabeth will start preparation classes on 1st October after to 10am Mass. Please return           completed forms to the parish office or hand to one of the Priests by the end of September.

First Saturday Devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary  On the first Saturday of each month a service will be held 11.30-12.30pm in the Church. It was first mentioned by Our Lady of Fatima on 13 July 1917. Everyone is welcome to join us in prayer next Saturday.

First Friday – Hour of Mercy will be held in the Church this Friday 5th August. It will start at 2.30pm with Rosary, 3pm    Divine Mercy Chaplet and Exposition, 3.30pm Mass. All are welcome to join us.

Bereavement Ministry Thanks to all who have come forward. May we ask for your prayers to be effective in his ministry.

Last weeks collections:  First collection: £1100.31,  Thank you for your continued generosity.  Thank you to all those people who also pay by standing order – forms are available on the information table if you would like to make your donation to the Church in this way instead of using gift aid envelopes or cash.

Mass OfferingsIf you would like to have a Mass offered for an intention, please fill in one of marked envelopes and hand to one of the priests or call at the presbytery between 10-2pm if you would like a specific mass. We cannot always allocate a Mass on the date requested as it may have already been booked, however, your Mass may be shared if you wish.

 School Forms  Fr Moses will be available to sign school forms on Thursday  between 1-4 pm in the Presbytery. Please note that the day and times may change each week.

Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday  straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: A minute within your court is more than a thousand elsewhere. Please spare a little time if you are able to come, pray & watch before the Blessed Sacrament, either on Wed (9.30–11.30) or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm so that there will always be someone present in the Church.

Wednesday Tea/Coffee  Come and join the fellowship after the 12 noon Mass on Wednesday.

Appeal for Knitters?  Thank you to those people who have shown an interest in making a shawl. We are not looking at any specific pattern and different styles would be most welcome (last year we had over 80 baptisms in the parish).
