Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to  receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them.

Draw tickets are now available at the back of the Church and will be drawn at our Parish Bazaar on 26th November. Tickets are 50p or £2.50 a book. We would be delighted if you could take and sell them to your family and friends and encourage them to come to the Bazaar. Please return counterfoils and money by placing in a marked envelope in the collection plate, one of the priests or parish office. Thank you.

200 Club  If you would like to join our 200 club please return the slip of paper with £20 this weekend 6th November so that we may hold the first draw of the year in the coffee bar on the 9th November after 12 noon Mass. £20 buys you 12 months worth of draw entries. There is an information table at the back of the Church. Thank you to all those people who have joined again and also new members.

Remembrance Mass will be celebrated at St John’s next Sunday13th November at 3pm to remember and pray for all our family and friends who have died. We read out the names of those who have died in our parish during the last year and you are invited to light a candle for your intention. We warmly invite everyone to join us for this annual Mass.

November Please collect an envelope and list deceased family & friends and place into the basket available on the altar. They will be remembered at all Masses during November and a special Mass on 27th November 10.30am.

Mr Colm Murphy RIP  Mr Murphy was a highly respected and much loved member of St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School and a long-serving teacher of the History department. He died whilst returning from a school trip to Berlin and      Krakow.  Please keep Mr Murphy’s family, all those who were on the trip, and the entire St John’s family in your thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.

Last weeks collections:  First collection: £1011.48, Bishop Patrick Lynch Golden Jubilee £260.25. Thank you for your    continued support. Next Sunday there will be a second collection for the Archbishop’s Appeal to support key areas such as Youth & Evangelization, Faith in Action and Clergy Care & Formation. Envelopes are available.

World Youth Day 2023, Lisbon The Diocese are taking a group of pilgrims (age 18-35) to Lisbon 31 July-7 August 2023. Please talk to Fr Moses or Susanne Gibbons if you might be interested. Further information www.lisboa2023.org/en . Deposits need to be collected by 30th November.

RCIA  We welcome anyone who is searching or wants to review their faith or may be interested in joining the Catholic  community, or wishes to be Confirmed. Please come to the Presbytery on Wednesdays at 7.30pm.

Baptisms  We welcome into our parish family Eva Phzare and Oshiorenoya Haruna who were baptized this week. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish  office. Dates for the baptism course can be seen in the porch. Families need to attend one of the talks before the baptism. Please phone or email the office if you wish to attend (Next session is 14th November).

School Forms  Fr Moses will be available to sign school forms on Friday between 12-4pm in the Presbytery. Please note that the day and times may change each week.

Knights of St. Columba News The Knights of St Columba, Council 977 Gravesend and Northfleet have won a prestigious award. Madonna Oakes Trophy is awarded by the KSC Supreme Council to the Province or Council who have gone over and above in their work for our Youth. This is the first time that this trophy has been won by our Knights here. We are  delighted to welcome Brother Michael Akinrele, The Supreme Director for Youth to present this prestigious trophy on 13th November 2022 at St. John’s Church during 10.30 am Mass.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Come to me all who labour and are overburdened and I will give you rest. Come, pray, rest & watch before the Blessed Sacrament, either on Wed (9.30–11.30) or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm.

Divine Mercy Chaplet The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be online at 3pm Monday – Friday only (not weekends) for the foreseeable future. See here for how to join the online meetings as well as the prayers if you wish to say the Chaplet privately.

Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday  straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family.

Bazaar  This year our parish bazaar will be held on Saturday 26th November at 12 noon in St Johns Comprehensive School. Please save this date. We are now collecting donations for the various stalls and there is a list at the back of the church with suggestions including bottles, teddies, toys, puzzles, Christmas decorations, Christmas goodies, toiletries, bags, scarves etc. Please do      consider helping by either running a stall or helping on the day. Ideas are most welcome. Either speak to Fr Moses or the office and we can let you know what type of help we need.
