Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in     hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked  ordinarily.

International Mass – Celebrating our Unity and Diversity 1st October 2023  (Only 2 weeks to go) at St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School, DA12 2JW. We want to celebrate our togetherness. Pope Francis announces the theme as “Building the future together.” –  humanity as brothers and     sisters. We are blessed with diverse nationalities in our parish. Let us celebrate our fraternity with a very special International Mass. Please save the date so we can all celebrate as a parish community – this was a wonderful successful day last year. Can your community help to sing a part of the Mass? There is a clipboard at the back of the Church if you would like to bring a plate of food.  We invite you to place a pin on the map in the porch representing a country that is close to your heart. There will be no 10.30am Mass at St John’s Church that day.

First Holy Communion Preparation for Children at Non Catholic Schools Application forms are now available at the back of the Church. Sr Elizabeth will start preparation classes on Saturday 14th October. Please return completed forms to the parish office or hand to one of the Priests by the end of September.

Baptism Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to    attend a talk before the baptism. Please phone/email the office if you wish to attend (Next session is Monday 9 Oct).

Last weeks collections  £1,191.28, Catholic Education Services £342.97. Thank you for your continued generosity. This Sunday: There is a second collection for the support of Catholic Evangelization. Thank you to all those people who also pay by standing order and contactless and your continued support.

Foodbank. Thank you for your generous donations. We were able to deliver 170.3kg of much needed food & other essentials to support local families in need.

Wednesday Tea/Coffee  Come and join the fellowship after the 12 noon Mass on Wednesday.

RCIA We welcome anyone who is searching or wants to review their faith or may be interested in joining the Catholic community, or wishes to be Confirmed. Please contact the parish office or speak to Fr Moses.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Come to me all who labour and are overburdened and I will give you rest. Come, pray, rest & watch before the Blessed Sacrament, either on Wed (9.30–11.30) or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm.

Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday  straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family.

Mass IntentionsIf you would like to have a Mass offered for an intention, please fill in one of marked envelopes and hand to one of the priests or call at the presbytery between 10-2pm if you would like a specific mass. We cannot always allocate a Mass on the date requested as it may have already been booked, however, your Mass may be shared if you wish.

School Forms We will be available to sign school forms on Thursday between 12-2pm in the Presbytery. Please note that the day and times may change each week.

World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation  Pope Francis has established 1st September to 4th October, the feast of St Francis of Assisi to pray for our common home and as a parish we will celebrate this time. Pope Francis has asked us to “join our Christian brothers and sisters in the commitment to care for creation as a sacred gift from the Creator.”

LOUDfence & Survivors Voices in partnership with the Archdiocese of Southwark, invite everyone to a Service of reflection for those that have been harmed by abuse and for those that support them on Wednesday 27th September 2023 at 6.30pm at St George’s Cathedral. The service will be led by Archbishop John Wilson, and afterwards everyone is invited to tie a ribbon on the tree of reflection and perhaps write a personal message of support or prayer for those that have been harmed by abuse or to show your commitment to end abuse.

Growing in Faith Together consists of four one hour-long sessions via Zoom and is a wonderful opportunity for engaged couples who have completed their marriage preparation course and married couples who want to continue exploring their faith together and to enrich their friendship and love. Growing in Faith Together — Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis (rcaos.org.uk)
