Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in     hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.

This Week:  MSP Mission Appeal  Once a year the archdiocese gives the parish opportunity to support the work of the MSP. As a parish we can sponsor the training of a priest and the education of a girl or boy. Please help us with our appeal this weekend 25/26th May in aid of our missionary work. Envelopes are available at the back of the Church for your donations and may be returned next week.

Rome The first World Children’s Day will take place in Rome on 26/27th May. Please remember in your prayers Fr Stephen and 26 children and parents who will be attending this event with children from all over the world with Pope Francis.

May Devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary  During May the Rosary will be recited 30 minutes before all Masses, especially for peace, joy, love in all our parishioners.

First Holy Communion for Children at Non Catholic Schools Please remember in your prayers the 42 children who will be making their First Holy Communion this weekend and next weekend. We thank the dedication of those who have prepared them for this big day.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed (10am-12noon) or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration

First Saturday Devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary  On the first Saturday of each month a service will be held 11.30-12.30pm in the Church.  Everyone is welcome to join us in prayer next Saturday 1st June.

Lowry Family  The Lowry family would like to say thank you to Fr Joe and Fr Moses and to their friends and parishioners for the flowers, mass cards, sympathy (cards and comforting messages) that they received following the Michael Lowry’s death.

Building a Better Marriage  If any married couples missed the recent Building a Better Marriage day at St John’s, you’ll be delighted to learn that another day is being held on the 29th June in the Carmel Hall at the Sacred Heart of Jesus church Sittingbourne from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Fr Jude’s Induction You are invited to celebrate the Induction of Fr Jude as Parish Priest in Meopham on 14th June at 7pm.

Baptism We welcome into our parish family Sade Lawal and Nazli Dunova who were baptized this weekendApplication forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a talk before the baptism. Please phone/email the office if you wish to attend (Next session is Monday 10th June).

Stewardship Drive  We are each uniquely gifted, and called to serve the community with our talents; Please remember to return your commitment cards to one of the Priests, a steward or the Presbytery.

Church Garden Thank you to our team of gardeners. The Church garden is looking lovely and a lot of work has gone into maintaining it.

KSC Dinner Dance 3 August 5.30-9.30pm  Dear Parishioner, We are delighted to invite you to KSC Dinner/Dance and Fund Raising event. Please see flyer for full details. We wish to raise funds for St John’s & Our Lady of the Assumption, Northfleet, particularly youth competitions. Tickets are £25 per person available from a member of the Knights. On the night there will be a grand raffle draw with great hampers and prizes. Please buy a ticket and enjoy a great evening with music, dance, relaxation and interaction.

Booking Mass IntentionsEnvelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention and put the stipend in the envelope. Please do not use the Dona Machine for Mass stipends.

Wednesday Tea/Coffee  Refreshments are served in the Coffee bar after 12 noon Mass. All welcome.

Catholic Charismatic Group meetings resuming Fridays at 7pm in the Church. You’re all welcome to come and listen, pray and share your faith.

Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday  straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family. Please see the parish website for prayer groups.

Date for your diary  We welcome back the popular Summer Concert featuring the Medway Singers along with the Meopham Brass Band on Saturday 13th July at 7.30pm. This fundraising event is for the Church Renovation project. Tickets are £5 and will soon be available.
