Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in     hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.

Parish Pastoral Plan  During the covid, we did look at ‘Some Definite Service’ together as a parish; may I invite you to a general meeting to look at the pastoral needs on Tuesday 25th June @7.30pm.

Churches Together  There will be a picnic at the prom today Sunday 9th June 1-4pm and there will be testimony at the gathering. It would be lovely to support this event and meet some people from the Churches in Gravesend.  Please being something to share.

Fr Jude’s Induction You are invited to celebrate the Induction of Fr Jude as Parish Priest in Meopham this Friday 14th June at 7pm conducted by Bishop Paul Hendricks.

Confirmation This year our young people will be Confirmed on Saturday 6th July at 11am & 2.30pm. This means that morning Mass will be at 9.15am. There will be no 10am Mass, Adoration or Confessions that day.  

Summer Concert  The popular Medway Singers will combine with Meopham Brass Band and Lauren Lynn to treat us to a very warming, relaxing evening on Saturday 13th July at 7.30pm. Proceeds for the Church Renovation projects. Tickets are £10 to include a drink and nibbles; and will soon be available. Please save the date.

Southwark Archdiocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage Archbishop John warmly invites you to join him as he leads the pilgrimage, from 23-30 August 2024. Details of this can be found on the Archdiocesan website: rcaos.org.uk. Experience the unique spirituality of Lourdes, along with people from parishes around the Archdiocese.

Foodbank Collection  at all Masses this weekend 8/9 June. Thank you for your support for local families in need. 

Last weeks collections  £1186.79. A further £726.45 came in for the MSP appeal. Frs Stephen and Moses are most  grateful on behalf of the MSP.  Next week: Day For Life. The focus for this year will be opposition to assisted suicide (euphemistically called ‘assisted dying’). “The Lord is my Shepherd – Compassion and Hope at the End of Life”

Thank you for your continued generosity and also to those people who pay by standing order and contactless. Gift aid, standing order, bank details are available at the back of the Church or contact the parish office.

Baptism We welcome into our parish family James Moraes Francisco and Sean Egbuchu who were baptized this weekendApplication forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a talk before the baptism. Please phone/email the office if you wish to attend (Next session is Monday 10th June).

First Holy Communion Next Saturday we welcome the children from St John’s RC School who will be making their First Holy Communion at 1pm and 3.30pm. Please remember them in your prayers.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed (10am-12noon) or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration

Stewardship Drive  We are each uniquely gifted, and called to serve the community with our talents; Please remember to return your commitment cards to one of the Priests, a steward or the Presbytery.

Fr Innocent Abonyi msp will be celebrating his Silver Jubilee of his Priestly Ordination on Friday 5th July with Mass at    Our Lady Star of the Sea, Llandudno for anyone able to make the journey. We are designing a ‘memory book’ for Fr Innocent, there is a link on the website for Parishioners to add their memories and messages of congratulations. Please complete by 21st June. A card is also available at the back of the church if you would like to sign it.

Church Garden Thank you to our team of gardeners. The Church garden is looking lovely and a lot of work has gone into maintaining it. Special thanks to Mary Gaskill, Janet, Sean and Henri.

KSC Dinner Dance 3 August 5.30-9.30pm  Please see flyer for full details. Tickets are £25 per person available from a member of the Knights. Please buy a ticket and enjoy a great evening with music, dance, relaxation and interaction.

Booking Mass IntentionsEnvelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention and put the stipend in the envelope. Please do not use the Dona Machine for Mass stipends.

Wednesday Tea/Coffee  Refreshments are served in the Coffee bar after 12 noon Mass. All welcome.

Book club You are invited to come to the Rotary Club of Gravesham and Ebbsfleet to their monthly book club conversation at St Johns Coffee bar this Wednesday 12th June at 6.30pm. The books to be discussed are Animal Farm and the           Alchemist. The anchor of this programme is Fr Stephen Ojapah.

200 Club  May Winners 1st: £55 – Joe Balzan, 2nd:  £35 – William Power, 3rd: £25 – Sunday teas, 4th: £15 – Mary Gaskill. We held the draw on Wednesday 5th June in the Coffee Bar. Thank you for your support.

Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday  straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family.
