Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.

Fr Moses and Fr Stephen would like to express their sincere thanks for such an inspiring Holy Week. All the help throughout the week and so many people working and preparing behind the scenes and giving their time so generously made the Easter Triduum a wonderful experience. Thank you to our wonderful and committed cleaners and all who prepared the church for the different services, welcome teams, altar servers and sacristans, choirs, flower arrangers, gardeners, special ministers, those who take communion to the sick and housebound, readers,  collectors and gift aid, counters, repository and coffee bar team. It is lovely to see the parish community working so well together – we are blessed to have so many dedicated people at St John’s. Finally, thank you for all your good wishes, cards and offerings.

Pope Francis RIP Thank you for attending the Requiem Masses for the Pope on   Wednesday and Thursday . We continue to pray for the Holy Father. Please also see the Archdiocese website for the Archbishop’s  message: rcsouthwark.co.uk/

Parish Pilgrimage to Walsingham  Please would you put your name on an envelope with how many seats you require. Adults @ £20 and children free. Your envelopes may be put into the collection plate, handed to one of the priests or the parish office. (or Marie Hughes). We would like to confirm the numbers by the 30th April as the coaches need to be paid. (Please do let us know if you are unable to come that day if your name was on the list.)

Divine Mercy Sunday  Today is Divine Mercy Sunday. There will be a service at 3pm at St John’s Church. You are most welcome to join us for the Chaplet of Divine Mercy as a novena online via the parish website, follow the “Divine Mercy Chaplet” link at 3pm for about 15 minutes.

Take part in a spiritual “Pilgrimage to Pentecost”  Starts Friday 2nd May in person at St John’s @ 7pm, Scripture reflections in a specially written course booklet, six weekly filmed talks pre-recorded at diocesan Jubilee shrines and churches and the closing Mass at the at The Friars, Aylesford on Saturday 7 June.  Booklets available @ £3.50 each. 

Last weeks collections  Holy Places: £662.49 This week: there will be a second collection for the maintenance of St George’s Cathedral. Next Sunday: There will be a second collection to help fund free child places for the trip to Walsingham. Thank you for your continued generosity and to those people who pay by standing order and contactless. We are ever so grateful.

MSP Mission Appeal 17/18 May Every year the Diocese allows one Congregation to make an appeal for support of their Mission work; this year  it happens to be MSP. Please support the work we do with the girl child, youths, the poor in         missions like Chad and South Sudan

Baptism We welcome into our parish family Emilia Zsigova who was baptized this weekend. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a preparation session before the   baptism (the next session is Monday 12th May @7pm). Please email the office.

Wedding  Our prayers, congratulations and best wishes to Egberanmwen Iyamu-Obasohan and Priscillia Omonigho     Obasohan on their wedding this week at St John’s. Please make an appointment to see the Parish Priest if you would like to get married at St John’s.

Altar servers Rally at The Friars, Aylesford on May Day bank holiday 5th May. Mass will be celebrated at 11.30am.     Everyone is welcome to attend especially our Altar servers, families and friends.

First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be held in the Church this Friday 2nd May.  It will start at 2.30pm with Rosary, 3pm Divine Mercy Chaplet and Exposition. Mass will be 3.45pm.  All are welcome to join us.

There will be 24hours continuous Adoration on Friday 2nd May after 9.15am Mass until 10.00am Sat 3rd May. If you are able, please sign the clipboard at the back of the Church so that we can be sure that there will always be someone with Our Lord.  Adoration also held on Wednesday 12.30-6pm and Saturday 10.30-12.30pm

 Mass in Celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage July 12th, at St George’s Cathedral. If you are celebrating your 1st/10th/25th/40th/50th/60th + wedding anniversary this year, please let us know as soon as possible, providing the following details: your names in the format John and Mary Smith, your home address, your parish, and the anniversary you are celebrating, so you can receive an invitation from the Archbishop for the renewal of vows during Mass.  Spaces are limited. Contact Carole at mflkent@rcaos.org.uk. As the title of your email, please write your location e.g.Gravesend. Contact the parish office or speak to one of the Priests if you would like us to send the information.   

First Saturday Devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary  On the first Saturday of each month a service will be held  immediately after Mass in the Church. Everyone is welcome to join us in prayer next Saturday 3rd May.

Jubilee Celebration at Aylesford Priory Archbishop John is inviting all of us on Saturday 7th June.

Divine Mercy Chaplet The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be online at 3pm Monday – Friday. Click here for how to join the online meetings as well as the prayers if you wish to say the Chaplet privately.
