Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.
Fr Moses Amune MSP: Our beloved Parish Priest, Father Moses Amune will be going on a three month sabbatical from the 1st October before he moves to a new parish/mission. We thank him immensely for all his years of service and ministry in Gravesend. To show our love and support for him we shall celebrate with him on the 21st September during the International Mass. We are all encouraged to be part of this usual celebration of our unity in diversity.
Parish Summer BBQ/Picnic We invite everyone to join us on Sunday 27th July at 12 noon at the riverside, near the pavilion for an afternoon of friendship and getting to know each other. Please bring something to share if you are able.
MSP Youth Event We are inviting young people (10-17 years old) for a social and spiritual experience that includes sports, singing, games and prayers at St John’s Comprehensive School on Saturday 2nd August from 10.30am to 5pm.
Last weeks collections £1,309.45. We are ever so grateful. Thanks also to our parishioners who have signed up for Gift Aid, increasing their donations by 25% at no extra cost to them.
This week: A second collection for Sella Maris – a Catholic charity supporting seafarers worldwide. They provide practical and pastoral care to all seafarers with Port chaplains and volunteer ship visitors at more than 250 ports. Modern seafarer life can be dangerous and lonely separated from their families. Stella Maris relies on wholly voluntary contributions.
Baptism We welcome into our parish family Sean Mahony, Reign Naka and Mia Naka who were baptized this weekend. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a preparation session before the baptism (the next session is Monday 14th July @7pm). Please email the office.
Foodbank We will be collecting donations for the Foodbank at all Masses this weekend. Thank you for your support.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed 10.00-12 or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration.
Altar Servers Our next practice will be on Saturday 19th July at 1pm. Please do your best to attend. New Servers are welcome to join us. For more information please speak to Fr Stephen, Fr Moses, Graham or Jacky after any Mass.

Wednesday Teas Whilst the Coffee Bar is being refurbished there will be no refreshments after Mass. We look forward to meeting again once the work is complete.
Keep Fit Everyone is welcome to join our gentle exercise class which will take place in the main hall while work is going on in the coffee bar each Wednesday. Exercises may be done seated or standing. 30 minutes £3 a session.
Summertime 2025: 6th Aug – 9th Aug: Altar Servers Trip to Westminster Pastoral Centre, £189. For aged 11-16. We commend this excellent residential trip for altar servers and those who regularly attend mass on the weekend. In an event that has now gone on for more than 20 years, it is a few days for deepening one’s catholic faith, in a great social atmosphere, including football, sports and visit to Thorpe Park. A lifechanging opportunity! Do you desire to know Jesus more intimately? The Archbishop’s Certificate (ArchCert) is a two-year online course for all in Southwark and beyond who wish to understand their faith in a more profound way and be able to share it with both confidence and joy. The course will commence on 18 October 2025 and the cost will be £400 per year. The full cost of the course, payable over 2 years is £800. Southward Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes There are still a few places available on the pilgrimage, which Southwark makes to Lourdes from 22 to 29 August this year.
