Parish Summer Picnic  We invite everyone to join us today Sunday 27th July at 12 noon at the riverside, near the pavilion for an afternoon of friendship and getting to know each other. Please bring something to share if you are able.

MSP Youth Event We are inviting young people (10-17 years old) for a social and spiritual experience that includes sports, singing, games and prayers at St John’s Comprehensive School next Saturday 2nd August from 10.30am to 5pm. Please go to the parish website and click on the link to register.

Blessed Carlo Acutis  St John’s Church are honoured to be able to have an exhibition of Blessed Carlo Acutis from     Monday 28th July until Tuesday 5th August. Carlo was born and baptized in London in 1991 and the family moved to Milan shortly afterwards.

Baptism Application forms for  Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to  attend a preparation session before the baptism (the next session is Monday 8th September @7pm). Please email the   office. 

First Holy Communion Preparation for Children at Non Catholic Schools Application forms are now available at the back of the Church. Preparation classes on Saturday 27th September. Please return completed forms to the parish    office or hand to one of the Priests before the first session.

Wedding  Our prayers, congratulations and best wishes to Darren Coulson and Fatou Diaby on their wedding this week at St John’s. Please make an appointment to see the Parish Priest if you would like to get married at St John’s.

Last weeks collections  £1,168.59. Thank you. Thanks also to our parishioners who have signed up for Gift  Aid, increasing their donations by 25% at no extra cost to them.

Thursday 9.15am Mass will now be in the Church during the summer holidays. We wish all the staff, pupils and their     families a happy and safe summer.

First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be held in the Church this Friday 1st August. It will start at 2.30pm with Rosary, 3pm Divine Mercy Chaplet and Exposition. Mass will be 3.45pm.  All are welcome to join us.

There will be 24hours continuous Adoration on Friday 1st August after 9.15am Mass until 10.00am Sat 2nd August. If you are able, please sign the clipboard at the back of the Church so that we can be sure that there will always be someone with Our Lord.  Adoration also held on Wednesday 10-12 noon and Saturday 10.30-12.30pm

First Saturday Devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary  On the first Saturday of each month a service will be held  immediately after Mass in the Church. Everyone is welcome to join us in prayer next Saturday 2nd August.

Stamps  Sister Delores is collecting stamps for the RNIB. Please place any donations in the box at the back of the Church.

Booking Mass Intentions:  Envelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church.

Wednesday Teas  Whilst the Coffee Bar is being refurbished there will be no refreshments after Mass. We look forward to meeting again once the work is complete.

Keep Fit  Everyone is welcome to join our gentle exercise class which will take place in the main hall while work is going on in the coffee bar each Wednesday. Exercises may be done seated or standing. 30 minutes £3 a session.

A lifechanging opportunity! Do you desire to know Jesus more intimately? The Archbishop’s Certificate (ArchCert) is a two-year online course for all in Southwark and beyond who wish to understand their faith in a more profound way and be able to share it with both confidence and joy. The course will commence on 18 October 2025 and the cost will be £400 per year. The full cost of the course, payable over 2 years is £800. Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer.  We especially remember our sick friends and family.

Fr Moses Amune MSP  Our beloved Parish Priest, Father Moses Amune will be going on a three month sabbatical from the 1st October before he moves to a new parish/mission. We thank him immensely for all his years of service and ministry in Gravesend. To show our love and support for him we shall celebrate with him on the 21st September during the International Mass. We are all encouraged to be part of this usual celebration of our unity in diversity.
