Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary This Friday 15th August is a holy day of obligation. Masses at 9.15am, 12 noon and 7pm.
Mass for the Veneration of Relics Thursday 14th, August @ 7pm: Holy Mass for the Veneration of Relics of St Columba, St Margaret of Scotland and St Andrew. All Parishioners are welcome to this Mass, the Relics will be arriving at St. John’s either on Wed or Thurs and the relics will also be available in church on Friday 15th August.
First Holy Communion Preparation for Children at Non Catholic Schools
Application forms are now available at the back of the Church. Preparation classes start on Saturday 27th September. Please return completed forms to the parish office or hand to one of the Priests before the first session.
Baptism We welcome into our parish family Braiden Howard, Braylie Howard, Chimamanda Mildred Chigozie-Agwuncha and Harlow Obahayujie who were baptized this weekend. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a preparation session before the baptism (the next session is Monday 8th September @7pm). Please email the office.
RCIA You are welcome to the Catholic Church Are you searching or want to review your faith or may be interested in joining the Catholic community, or wish to be Confirmed. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed 10.00-12 or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration.
Mother’s prayer group takes place straight after the 9.15 mass every Friday. You are invited to join us and pray for our children especially.
Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family.
Stamps Sister Delores is collecting stamps for the RNIB. Please place any donations in the box at the back of the Church.
Foodbank We will be collecting donations for the Foodbank at all Masses this weekend 9/10 August. The most needed items are Tinned Cold Meat & Fish, Peanut Butter, Honey & Choc Spread, Instant Mash, Squash, Biscuits & Crackers, Toothpaste, Shampoo & Conditioner. Thank you for your support.
Book Club Organised by Gravesham with Ebbsfleet Rotary, the Club next meets on Wednesday 13th August 6.30-7.30pm online or at the Presbytery. It is led by Fr Stephen (online on this occasion) and is open to all. This month: books of your own choice. Enquiries to Mark Underwood 07985 563063.
Keep Fit Everyone is welcome to join our gentle exercise class which will take place in the main hall while work is going on in the coffee bar each Wednesday. Exercises may be done seated or standing. 30 minutes £3 a session.
International Mass & Thanksgiving for Fr Moses Our Annual International Mass Sunday 21st September 10.30am at St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School. We are blessed with diverse nationalities in our parish. Let us celebrate our fraternity with a very special International Mass. Envelopes are available at the back of the Church for donations to Fr Moses. Please either bring to the International Mass, pop in the collection plate or the parish office. 10.30am Mass that day will be moved to the Comprehensive; there will be no 9.30am Mass at Denton.

Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.
