Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families.

Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.

Baptisms We welcome into our parish family Denis Samko and Atara Agbaje  who were Baptised this weekend. Application forms for  Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a preparation session before the baptism (the next session is Monday 13th October @7pm) or email the office. 

First Holy Communion Preparation for Children at Non Catholic Schools The children have now started their classes. Please keep them in your prayers.

RCIA You are welcome to the Catholic Church Are you searching or want to review your faith or may be interested in joining the Catholic community, or wish to be Confirmed. Last weeks collections  £1287.37,. Thank you. Thanks also to our parishioners who have signed up for Gift  Aid & those who donate by contactless & standing order. This  week there will be a second collection  for the Catholic Agency for the

Support of Evangelisation

Cafod Fast Day  This Friday 4th October. Envelopes are available at the back of the church. The second collection next weekend will be for Cafod.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed 10.00-12 or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration.

October Devotions   October is the month of the Holy Rosary. The Rosary will be recited 30 minutes before Mass Mondays –Saturdays and at 5.30pm on Sundays.

First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be held in the Church this Friday 3rd October. It will start at 2.30pm with Rosary, 3pm Divine Mercy Chaplet and Exposition. Mass will be 3.45pm.  All are welcome to join us.

There will be 24hours continuous Adoration on Friday 3rd October after 9.15am Mass until 10.00am Sat 4th.  If you are able, please sign the clipboard at the back of the Church so that we can be sure that there will always be someone with Our Lord.  Adoration also held on Wednesday 10-12 noon and Saturday 10.30-12.30pm

First Saturday Devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary  On the first Saturday of each month a service will be held  immediately after Mass in the Church. Everyone is welcome to join us in prayer next Saturday 6th September.

School Forms  The priests will be available to sign school forms this Tuesday from 12md –2pm  Please ring on the Presbytery bell.

Fr William Agley    who was ordained at St John’s in 1998, has been appointed as General Secretary to the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. Please keep him in your prayers.

Month of Creation  From 1st September to 4th October (feast of St Francis of Assisi):  During this season we are encouraged to pray and engage in community events in order to deepen our relationship with God, our neighbour and the earth we share, being ever more attentive to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. Pope Leo stresses that environmental justice – implicitly proclaimed by the prophets – can no longer be regarded as an abstract concept or a distant goal.

Booking Mass Intentions:  Envelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention and put the stipend in the envelope and hand to one of the priests or call at the presbytery between 10-2pm if you would like a specific mass. We cannot always allocate a Mass on the date requested as it may have already been booked, however, your Mass may be shared if you wish.
