Fr Emmanuel’s Induction Mass  Next Sunday 22nd February at 11am. Bishop Paul will be celebrating this very  special Mass. Everyone is invited to attend. If you would like to bring some food or drink to share on the day we would be most grateful. The car park will be shut during next weeks Induction Mass.

Old Palm Crosses There is a basket available at the back of the Church to collect old palm crosses which can be burnt and made into ash this  Ash Wednesday, 18th February.

Ash Wednesday  This Wednesday 18th February is a day of fasting and abstinence. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of a period of 40 days (Sundays excluded) in which Catholics prepare for Eastertide. Ashes will be blessed and distributed on that day at all Masses; 9.15am, 12 noon and 7pm. The Priest invites parishioners forward saying “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”. This period also represents the 40 days that Jesus spent in the desert as well as the 40 years that the Israelites spent in exile. Please collect a Lenten leaflet with all the dates of services up to Easter Sunday.

Southwark Spirituality Commission  Each day during Lent, they will be sending a reflection to help you draw closer to the Lord Jesus. You may register at rcsouthwark.co.uk  

Lenten booklets  Lenten booklets are now available at the back of the Church. There are 2 different books, one with readings of the day and one with reflections of the day (£1 each). There is also a selection of children’s booklets to purchase.

Stations of the Cross During Lent there will be Stations of the Cross on Friday at 6.30pm and Wednesday 10am.

Catechists  Please speak to one of the Priests if you would like to join the Catechist team, particularly preparation for First Holy Communion.

Wednesday Teas  Do we have any parishioners willing to help with serving the refreshments after the 12 noon Mass on Wednesday? Please speak to Father or one of the team. Teas and coffee will be served after 12 noon Mass this Wednesday. Please come along for a friendly chat.

Baptisms We welcome into our parish family Marlowe Sloane Kilcullen who was baptized at St John’s this weekend.     Application forms for Baptism are available at the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a        preparation session before the baptism (the next session is Monday 16th February @7pm) or email the office.

Confirmation The preparation programme for young people in Years 8-13 at school has now started. Please keep them in your prayers.

Last weeks collections  St John’s: £1086.90, St Mary’s: £214.15, St Katherine’s: £55.52. Dona machine for January £1416.00. This Sunday: Second collection for Clergy Support which enables the Diocese to care for clergy in their old age or sickness after a lifetime of service. Thank you for your support and generosity.

Foodbank  We will be collecting donations for the Foodbank at all Masses this weekend.  The most needed items are Tinned Fruit, Tinned Carrots, Longlife Milk & Juice, Couscous, Honey and Squash.  Thank you for support for local families in need. 

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed 10.00-12 or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration.

Children’s Liturgy  We welcome children of age 4-8 to weekly sessions at the 10.30am Mass. Please, speak to a member of Children’s Liturgy team to find out more details. (There will be no children’s liturgy next week during Fr Emmanuel’s    Induction Mass)

School Forms The priest will be available to sign school forms this Thursday from 10-11am. Please ring on the           Presbytery bell.

`Booking Mass Intentions:  Envelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention and put the stipend in the envelope and hand to one of the priests or drop into the Presbytery letterbox or call at the presbytery        between 10-2pm if you would like a specific mass. We cannot always allocate a Mass on the date requested as it may have already been booked, however, your Mass may be shared if you wish.

Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer.  We especially remember our sick friends and family.

Mother’s prayer group takes place straight after the 9.15am mass every Friday. You are invited to join us and pray for our children especially.

Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 01474 352415. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families.

Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.
