Sick/housebound  Please contact the parish office (01474 352415) and let us know of neighbours/family members who are   unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. When on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.

Father’s Day Thank you to our fathers, grandfathers, and father figures. We pray that they are blessed with wisdom, patience, and strength as they guide and support their families. May they feel valued and appreciated for all their      sacrifices.

Social Committee  Would all those willing to help on a Social Committee and those on the WhatsApp group please come to a short meeting this Sunday 21st June after the 11am Mass.

FHC Preparation  Programme 26/27 including St John’s Primary School.  Fr Emmanuel would like to hold a meeting for all parents of children making their FHC next spring 2027. The meeting will take place on Sunday 6th September straight after the 11am Mass for a short talk. Your individual child’s Mass Attendance card will be handed out.

Baptisms Application forms for Baptism are available from the Sacristy. Please see the Priest after Mass to ask for a form. Families need to attend a preparation session before the baptism (next session is Monday 13th July @7pm – parents only) or email the office.

Pastoral Letter  Please collect a pastoral message from Archbishop John Wilson about a message on the dignity of every person. Copies available at the back of the Church.

School Forms The priest will be available to sign school forms this Tuesday between 11-1pm. Please ring on the  Presbytery bell.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed 10.00-12 or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.00pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration.

Last weeks collections St John’s: £826.70, St Mary’s: £195.26, This Sunday: There will be a second collection for Day for Life. In their message for the occasion, the bishops reflect on the humanity of every unborn child and offer a special word of remembrance to parents who have lost a child before or shortly after birth. A papal blessing has also been given for the Day for Life.  Next Sunday: there will be a second collection for Peter’s Pence – offering to the Holy Father is designated to Church needs. Thank you for your support and continued generosity.

Tea & Cake with the Youth SVP  Please join St Johns Comprehensive School young SVP in  the coffee bar Saturday 11th July after 10am Mass. Do support the young people with their efforts.

Foodbank  Thank you for your generous donations last weekend.  We were able to deliver 136kg of food and other essentials to help local families in need

KSC Council 977 Annual Dinner Dance and Fundraising Saturday 4th July 2026 at The Riverside Community    Centre, Dickens Road, Gravesend DA12 2JY, Tickets: £35, 7-11pm. Dress code: This is a black tie event, Raffle Prizes to be won  on the night. For tickets please contact  Brother Michael Afeeva on 07958112644 or  a member of the Knights of St. Columba. Children’s Liturgy  We welcome children of age 4-8 to weekly sessions at the 11am Mass. Please, speak to a       member of Children’s Liturgy team to find out more details

Padre Pio Prayer Group meet each Tuesday straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer.  We especially remember our sick friends and family.

Booking Mass Intentions: Envelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention         (RIP,  unwell, anniversary, thanksgiving etc) and put the stipend in the envelope and hand to one of the priests or drop into the Presbytery letterbox, or call at the presbytery between 10-2pm if you would like a specific mass. We cannot always allocate a Mass on the date requested as it may have already been booked, however, your Mass may be shared if you wish. Minimum donation per Mass is £10 for those who can afford it.

The Book Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm for an hour in the church coffee bar.  All are welcome.  Free entry and free refreshments. Next meeting 8th July; come and talk about your own choice of book.  Organised by Gravesham with Ebbsfleet Rotary.  

Stamps  Sister Delores is collecting stamps for the RNIB. Please place any donations in the box at the back of the Church. Thank you for the recent donation of stamps. there have been some very interesting ones.

Saturday 4th July  Please note the changes on that day as the Church will have three weddings taking place. Mass will be 10am St John’s, 11am St Katherine’s, Shorne, Weddings at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm.  Confessions will be at 5.15pm and evening Mass 6pm. There will be no morning Exposition or Confessions.

Divine Mercy Chaplet The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be online at 3pm Monday – Friday. Click here for how to join the online meetings as well as the prayers if you wish to say the Chaplet privately.
