Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.

Easter Vigil  We warmly welcome Daniel Walton, Paulette Glover, Priscilla Okorefe, Joyce Livingstone, Osadolor Asemote, Egbe Asemota and Mercy Edobor Asemota who were Baptized, received and Confirmed and Kayleigh Bicknell, Jean Buckpitt, Ian Wakeman and Georgia Humphreys who were received and Confirmed at the Easter Vigil.

Family Parish Picnic – Galilee Day (Easter Monday) Please join us for 10am Mass at St John’s then we will make our way down to the river front (by the cafeteria area) for a family and friends afternoon. Bring as many people as you can and bring food, games, chairs, rugs etc for a fun and entertaining afternoon.

Parish Pilgrimage to Walsingham  We have had a wonderful response to our pilgrimage and we are continuing to collect the money for the coach. Please would you put your name on an envelope with how many seats you require. Adults @ £20 and children free. Your envelopes may be put into the collection plate, handed to one of the priests or the parish office.     (St Mary’s monies may be given to Marie Hughes). We would like to confirm the numbers by the 30th April as the coaches need to be paid. (Please do let us know if you are unable to come that day if your name was on the list.)

Divine Mercy Sunday  Divine Mercy Sunday is the Sunday following Easter, this year 27th April. There will be a service at 3pm at St John’s Church. The novena starts on Good Friday and ends on the following Saturday. In 1935 Our Lord asked St Faustina to promote the Divine Mercy Chaplet and particularly to say it as a novena before Divine Mercy Sunday. You are most welcome to join us for the Chaplet of Divine Mercy as a novena online Click here for how to join the online meetings. Good Friday online is 2pm, the following days are at 3pm, for about 15 minutes.

Last weeks collections  £1.589.26 Thank you for your continued generosity and to those people who pay by standing order and contactless. Your Easter offering is for our Priests at St John’s. Envelopes are available at the back of the Church. We are ever so grateful. 

Next Sunday there will be a second collection for the maintenance of St George’s Cathedral.

 Jubilee Shrines  We are encouraged to make a pilgrimage at some stage during this year. In so doing, it is possible to   obtain a plenary indulgence.  rcaos.org.uk/faith/jubilee-2025/designated-jubilee-churches-and-shrines/

Baptism We welcome into our parish family Lianna Rathod and Alex Gabco who were baptized this weekend. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a preparation     session before the baptism (the next session is Monday 12th May @7pm). Please email the office.

 Altar servers Rally at The Friars, Aylesford on May Day bank holiday 5th May. Mass will be celebrated at 11.30am.     Everyone is welcome to attend especially our Altar servers, families and friends.

Foodbank Thanks Thank you for your very generous donations last weekend.  We were able to deliver 249.7kg of much needed food & other essentials to help local families. 

Assisted suicide Bill – postcards available Committee Stage of the assisted suicide Bill has ended. It is now weaker and less safe than it was before. 300+ amendments that sought to strengthen safeguards in the Bill and protect vulnerable groups were rejected by Bill supporters, including protection for people with disabilities and domestic abuse victims. Please take action now – collect a red and white postcard, fill out your details and post it to Dr Lauren Sullivan MP

Mass in Celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage, July 12th, at St George’s Cathedral. If you are celebrating your 1st/10th/25th/40th/50th/60th + wedding anniversary this year, please let us know as soon as possible

Jubilee Celebration at Aylesford Priory Archbishop John is inviting all of us on Saturday 7 June.

Booking Mass Intentions:  Envelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention and put the stipend in the envelope and hand to one of the priests or call at the presbytery between 10-2pm. We try and put the intention on any date specified but it is not always possible – if you would like a specific date please try and request early.
