Blessed Carlo Acutis
St John’s Church are honoured to be able to have an
exhibition of Blessed Carlo Acutis until Tuesday 5th August. Carlo was born and
baptized in London in 1991.
First Holy Communion Preparation for Children at Non Catholic Schools
Application forms are now available at the back of the Church. Preparation classes on Saturday 27th September. Please return completed forms to the parish office or hand to one of the Priests before the first session.
Baptism We welcome into our parish family Nina Budai, Emilio Frater & Maksims Solokha who were baptized this weekend. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a preparation session before the baptism (the next session is Monday 8th September @7pm). Please email the office.
RCIA You are welcome to the Catholic Church Are you searching or want to review your faith or may be interested in joining the Catholic community, or wish to be Confirmed. A new course will start on Wednesday 1st October. Contact the office or speak to one of the priests. God Bless.

Thursday 9.15am Mass will now be in the Church during the summer holidays.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed 10.00-12 or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration.
Stamps Sister Delores is collecting stamps for the RNIB. Please place any donations in the box at the back of the Church.
Foodbank We will be collecting donations for the Foodbank at all Masses next weekend 9/10 August. The most needed items are Tinned Cold Meat & Fish, Peanut Butter, Honey & Choc Spread, Instant Mash, Squash, Biscuits & Crackers, Toothpaste, Shampoo & Conditioner. Thank you for your support.
Booking Mass Intentions: Envelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention and put the stipend in the envelope and hand to one of the priests or call at the presbytery between 10-2pm if you would like a specific mass. We cannot always allocate a Mass on the date requested as it may have already been booked, however, your Mass may be shared if you wish. Please do not use the Dona Machine. (The Diocese suggest £10 for an intention).
Wednesday Teas Whilst the Coffee Bar is being refurbished there will be no refreshments after Mass. We look forward to meeting again once the work is complete.
Keep Fit Everyone is welcome to join our gentle exercise class which will take place in the main hall while work is going on in the coffee bar each Wednesday. Exercises may be done seated or standing. 30 minutes £3 a session.
International Mass Our Annual International Mass Sunday 21st September 10.30am at St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School. We are blessed with diverse nationalities in our parish. Let us celebrate our fraternity with a very special International Mass. 10.30am Mass that day will be moved to the Comprehensive; there will be no 9.30am Mass at Denton.
Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family.
Thank you to everyone who joined us last Sunday down by the riverside and made such a lovely afternoon. We will celebrate this parish event again.

Fr Moses Amune MSP: Our beloved Parish Priest, Father Moses Amune will be going on a three month sabbatical from the 1st October before he moves to a new parish/mission. We thank him immensely for all his years of service and ministry in Gravesend. To show our love and support for him we shall celebrate with him on the 21st September during the International Mass. We are all encouraged to be part of this usual celebration of our unity in diversity.

Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.
