Sick/housebound  Please contact the parish office (01474 352415) and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. When on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.

First Holy Communion Please remember in your prayers the 62 children from St John’s Primary School who made their First Holy Communion this weekend.

Church Garden Thank you to our team of gardeners. The Church garden is looking lovely and a lot of work has gone into maintaining it. Special thanks to Mary Gaskill, Janet, Sean and Henri for their time.

Baptisms We welcome into our parish family Alaiyah Stapley, Lainey Turner and Keanu Omomayowa who were baptised this weekend. Application forms for Baptism are available from the Sacristy. Please see the Priest after Mass to ask for a form. Families need to attend a preparation session before the baptism (next session is Monday 8th June @7pm – parents only) or email the office.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed 10.00-12 or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration.

School Forms The priest will be available to sign school forms this Wednesday between 1-3pm. Please ring on the Presbytery bell.

Last weeks collections St John’s: £932.77, St Mary’s: £207.08. Thank you for your support and continued generosity. Thank you also to our parishioners who have signed up for Gift  Aid increasing their donations by 25% at no extra cost to them, & those who donate by contactless & standing order. Altar Servers Practice will take place at 1pm on 20th June.

Foodbank We will be collecting next weekend 13/14th June. Most needed items are tinned custard, rice pudding, cold meat, baked beans, honey, peanut butter & longlife milk. Thank you for helping those in need.

Booking Mass Intentions:  Envelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention (RIP,  unwell, anniversary, thanksgiving etc) and put the stipend in the envelope and hand to one of the priests or drop into the Presbytery letterbox, or call at the presbytery between 10-2pm if you would like a specific mass. We cannot always allocate a Mass on the date requested as it may have already been booked, however, your Mass may be shared if you wish.

Children’s Liturgy  We welcome children of age 4-8 to weekly sessions at the 11am Mass. Please, speak to a       member of Children’s Liturgy team to find out more details

Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer.  We especially remember our sick friends and family.

Mother’s prayer group takes place straight after the 9.15am mass every Friday. You are invited to join us and pray for our children especially.

The Book Club  next meets on Wednesday 13th May at 7pm for an hour in the church coffee bar.  Free entry and free refreshments.  Organised by Gravesham with Ebbsfleet Rotary.  

New parish mass books  Please treat them with respect. Refrain from removing or discarding bookmarks. Let us care for our liturgical materials with reverence.  If you wish to purchase your own book from the repository they will cost £6. They have 6 months of Sunday readings so the present one runs until 31st May. Eventually the whole set will consist of 6 books for year A, B, & C.

Possible vacancy for a new role at Gravesham Sanctuary Day Centre. This opportunity is dependent on successful grant funding. We are inviting early expressions of interest. This would be a part-time paid role until March 2029 as Day Centre Manager. The Manager would work with an enthusiastic team of volunteers and individuals with lived experience of homelessness.
