World Day of Children
May 25 - May 26
The first World Children’s Day will be held on 25-26 May 2024, and will involve the participation of Pope Francis and children from all over the world at an event in Rome.
As a parish we would like to invite children between 7-13 years old to consider joining Fr Stephen. Significant number of adults will be accompanying the children to cater for them personally. We are planning on flying to Rome and staying 2/3 nights. Please return names and details to Fr Stephen or the office and we will organise a meeting towards the end of the month to see who would like to commit.
Pope Francis made the announcement, “with joy”, at the Angelus on the feast of the Immaculate Conception. The initiative responds to the question, What kind of world do we want to leave to the children who are growing up now? “Like Jesus, we want to put children at the centre and care for them”
