Fr Moses’ Birthday Thanksgiving Mass  In thanksgiving to God for Fr Moses’ 60th Birthday, we would like to invite you all to a special celebration and fellowship after Mass on Friday 30th December at the Comprehensive School. We will begin with the Holy Mass at 7pm and the celebrations will continue afterwards. In order to celebrate the richness of our diversity here in the Parish, it would be wonderful if you could bring a dish and some drinks to share with others, but most importantly bring yourselves and your family. There are clipboards at the back of the church to help us with catering. Please contact the planning committee through Maria on 07955 388610 or Monica on 07809 234759 if you can help in any way. Fr. Vincent Omokpakpo, msp will be speaking to us on Sunday 18/12/22 in all the masses concerning the birthday party. Parishioners are encouraged to come along to the mass with a free will donation. Family craft event – Sunday 18th December 2.30-4pm at St John’s Church.  Multiple different Christmas themed craft     activities for families to enjoy.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Craft supplies are on a first come first served basis.  We look forward to welcoming you to this free event. 

Family Advent Service of Reconciliation on Tuesday 20th December at 7pm. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Readers/Extraordinary Ministers Recollection on Tuesday 20th December at 6pm (preceding the service of reconciliation at 7pm)

Carol Concerts   We thank you all for making the Concerts despite the icy roads.

St John’s Christmas Card  Please collect a card giving all the dates of events and times during the Christmas season.

Last weeks collections:  First collection: £793.66, Church Maintenance: £71.18. Thank you for your continued support. The collection over Christmas will be your personal gift to our MSP priests. Envelopes are available at the back of the Church.

Baptisms  We welcome into our parish family Skylar Guga and Solomon Evgeniy Stankevics who were baptized this week. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend one of the talks before the baptism. Please phone or email the office if you wish to attend (Next session is 9th January 2023).

School Forms  Fr Moses will be available to sign school forms on Thursday between 12-4pm in the Presbytery. Please note that the day and times may change each week.

RCIA  We welcome anyone who is searching or wants to review their faith or may be interested in joining the Catholic community, or wishes to be Confirmed. Please come to the Presbytery on Wednesdays at 7.30pm.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Come to me all who labour and are overburdened and I will give you rest. Come, pray, rest & watch before the Blessed Sacrament, either on Wed (9.30–11.30) or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm.

Mustard Seed  Bible study every day @ 8.30pm; Lectio Divina on Fridays @ 7.30pm. Please go to the parish website www.stjohnsgravesend.co.uk and click on the link.

Divine Mercy Chaplet The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be online at 3pm Monday – Friday only (not weekends). Click here for how to join the online meetings as well as the prayers if you wish to say the Chaplet privately.

Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday  straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family.

Mass OfferingsIf you would like to have a Mass offered for an intention, please fill in one of marked envelopes and hand to one of the priests or call at the presbytery between 10-2pm if you would like a specific mass. We cannot always allocate a Mass on the date requested as it may have already been booked, however, your Mass may be shared if you wish.

Crib  Please encourage the children to watch the scene build week by week with the story of Christmas. Offerings from the crib go to the House of Mercy.

Foodbank Thanks    A huge thanks to you all for your generous donations to Gravesham Foodbank this year. As a Parish we have delivered over 1900 kg of food and other essential items to help local families big and small. Thanks also to those who help with loading and delivering each month. Our next collection will be at all masses 14th & 15th January. Thank you!

Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to  receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them.
