Holy Day of Obligation This Thursday is the feast of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Masses will be at 9.15am, 12 noon & 7pm.
International Mass Our Annual International Mass Sunday15th September 10.30am at St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School. Please do let us know if you are able to help in any way. There is now a clipboard for anyone who would like to make a donation of food, drink, disposable items etc. 10.30am Mass that day will be moved to the Comprehensive; there will be no 9.30am Mass at Denton
Baptism We welcome into our parish family Ivan Jah who was baptized this weekend.
Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a talk before the baptism. Please phone/email the office if you wish to attend (Next session is Monday 9th Sept).
Wedding Our prayers, congratulations and best wishes to Celeste Di-Trolio and Daniele Faro on their wedding this weekend at St John’s. Please make an appointment to see the Parish Priest if you would like to get married at St John’s.
Jude Green RIP teacher at the prep school & wife of John Green, teacher from St John’s has died. Funeral 20 August @ 2pm at Christ the King in Steyning. All welcome.

First Holy Communion Preparation for Children at Non Catholic Schools Application forms are now available at the back of the Church. Sr Elizabeth will start preparation classes on Saturday 28th September. Please return completed forms to the parish office or hand to one of the Priests
Mothers Prayers We have started a ‘Mothers Prayers’ group at St John’s on Fridays in the Cry room after 9.15am Mass. All welcome.

Monthly tea/Coffee -Today there will be tea and coffee served in the Coffee Room after 10.30 am Mass. You are most welcome to the Coffee bar after Mass for the refreshments and some social get-together.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed (10am-12noon) or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration
Booking Mass Intentions: Envelopes for Masses are available at the back of the Church, write the intention and put the stipend in the envelope. Please do not use the Dona Machine for Mass stipends.
Book club You are invited to come to the Rotary Club of Gravesham and Ebbsfleet to their monthly book club conversation at St Johns Coffee bar this Wednesday 14th Aug at 6.30pm. The anchor of this programme is Fr Stephen Ojapah.
Foodbank We will be collecting donations for the Foodbank at all Masses this weekend, 10/11th Aug. The most needed items are Tinned Meat/Veg/Custard & Rice Pudding, Squash, Noodles, Crackers. Thank you for your support.
Wednesday Tea/Coffee Refreshments are served in the Coffee bar after 12 noon Mass. All welcome.
Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family.

Appeal for Knitters? Thank you to all those people who have made a shawl for our delighted parents getting their children baptised. We don’t have any shawls left for them to purchase. If you would like to knit/crochet a shawl we can reimburse the cost of the wool. We are not looking at any specific pattern although they need to be white. Please call at the office if you have any queries.
Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.
