Sick/housebound Please contact the parish office and let us know of neighbours/family members who are unable to come to Church and would like to receive Communion or call 07405803862. We remember in our prayers those who are sick, housebound or in hospital & those who care for them and their families. Please, when on admission in the hospital or care home, volunteer the information of your faith as you won’t be asked ordinarily.
Fr Moses Amune MSP Our Parish Priest, Father Moses Amune, will be away from the end of September for a three month break and at the end of his holiday he will be re-assigned to another parish. In summary our Parish Priest is on transfer to another parish or mission.
Parish Summer BBQ/Picnic We invite everyone to join us on Sunday 27th July at 12 noon at the riverside, near the pavilion for an afternoon of friendship and getting to know each other. Please bring something to share if you are able.
MSP Youth Event We are inviting young people (10-17 years old) for a social and spiritual experience that includes sports, singing, games and prayers at St John’s Comprehensive School on Saturday 2nd August from 10.30am to 5pm.
Last weeks collections £1,358.59. Peter’s Pence £426.85. We are ever so grateful. Thanks also to our parishioners who have signed up for Gift Aid, increasing their donations by 25% at no extra cost to them.
Next week 13th July: A second collection for Sella Maris – a Catholic charity supporting seafarers worldwide. They provide practical and pastoral care to all seafarers with Port chaplains and volunteer ship visitors at more than 250 ports. Modern seafarer life can be dangerous and lonely separated from their families. Stella Maris relies on wholly voluntary contributions.
Baptism We welcome into our parish family Mmesomachukwu Ezekwem, Noelle Navin and Sienna Slight who were baptized this weekend. Application forms for Baptism are available from the back of the Church or the parish office. Families need to attend a preparation session before the baptism (the next session is Monday 14th July @7pm). Please email the office.
Book club You are invited to the Rotary Club of Gravesham and Ebbsfleet to their monthly book club conversation at St Johns in the Coffee bar on Wednesday 9th July at 6.30pm. Foodbank We will be collecting donations for the Foodbank at all Masses next weekend 12th & 13th July, The most needed items are Tinned Cold Meat & Fish, Peanut Butter, Honey & Choc Spread, Instant Mash, Squash, Biscuits & Crackers, Toothpaste, Shampoo & Conditioner. Thank you for your support.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Christ is really present in the Blessed Sacrament; come and talk heart to heart with Him, either on Wed 10.00-12 or Sat after 10am Mass until 12.30pm; or 1st Friday 24 hour Adoration.
Altar Servers Our next practice will be on Saturday 19th July at 1pm. Please do your best to attend. New Servers are welcome to join us. For more information please speak to Fr Stephen, Fr Moses, Graham or Jacky after any Mass.
Padre Pio Prayer Group each Tuesday straight after 9.15am Mass in the Cry Chapel. All welcome to join us in prayer. We especially remember our sick friends and family.
Wednesday Teas Whilst the Coffee Bar is being refurbished there will be no refreshments after Mass. We look forward to meeting again once the work is complete.

Summertime 2025: 6th Aug – 9th Aug: Altar Servers Trip to Westminster Pastoral Centre, £189. For aged 11-16. We commend this excellent residential trip for altar servers and those who regularly attend mass on the weekend. In an event that has now gone on for more than 20 years, it is a few days for deepening one’s catholic faith, in a great social atmosphere, including football, sports and visit to Thorpe Park.
